PRLL BASEBALL 11's WIN WEST NYACK 11 TOURNAMENT

The PRLL 11 year-old Baseball all-star team won the West Nyack 11 year-old Tournament, defeating Suffern in the title game, 14-13 on Thursday night (7/18). -- LINK TO GAME AND TEAM PHOTOS --

On Wednesday night, when the game began, Pearl River trailed, 8-4, in the bottom of the fourth inning, and had two men on base with one out, when the skies opened, and thunderstorms rolled into the area. The game was suspended in place, and resumed on Thursday evening, and when the fourth inning ended, PRLL had pushed five runs across the plate to take the lead. Suffern re-took the lead in the top of the fifth inning, but the Pearl River boys again mashed the ball and took a 14-10 lead, then survived a Suffern scare to hang on, 14-13, for the tournament championship.

Together with the 9 year-olds' victory in West Nyack's earlier tournament, PRLL completed a rare sweep of the West Nyack summer tournaments.
