CONGRATULATIONS!!!  MAJOR GIRLS CHAMPIONS: KY. WILDCATS (defeat Mich. Wolverines) .... GIRLS MINORS CHAMPIONS:  EXTREME (defeat Aftershock).

MAJOR BOYS CHAMPIONS:  ORIOLES (defeated Pirates)  
BOYS AAA CHAMPIONS:  NATIONALS (defeated Blue Jays)        
BOYS AA CHAMPIONS:  REDS (defeated Phillies)   
BOYS' JUNIOR (13-14) DIVISION:  PRLL YANKEES   




2017 PLAYOFFS

MAJOR BOYS    The METS won the regular season title, and started the playoffs with wins over the A's and Pirates, but came up short against the ORIOLES, who had beaten the Yankees and Dodgers, and then defeated the Pirates in the championship round.  The ORIOLES won the Major Boys division in their first year in the division.  (LINK TO PHOTOS)

MAJOR GIRLS:    The ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE took the regular season title, and won their first playoff game over the LSU Tigers, but were downed by the # 3 seed KENTUCKY WILDCATS, who advanced to the final round and defeated the Michigan Wolverines for the championship.

BOYS AAA:    The NATIONALS won the regular season, then swept through the playoffs, defeating the Blue Jays in the championship game to capture the AAA title.  (LINK TO PHOTOS)

GIRLS MINORS:   The EXTREME defeated the Aftershock in the playoff finals to win the Girls' Minors division.  (LINK TO PHOTOS)

BOYS AA:    The REDS, after going undefeated in the regular season, were upset in the first playoff championship round game by the Phillies, but came back to win the title game and the Boys' AA title.  (LINK TO PHOTOS)

2017 NEWS

Construction of senior citizen housing next door to the Anderson Fields complex created some disruption throughout the 2017 Spring season, but did not substantially interfere with the PRLL season and post-season.

POST-SEASON TOURNAMENTS

Michael MacRobbie Minors Tournament of Champions starts Sat. June 17 at Nanuet.

                          6/17: PRLL def. West Nyack, 14-9 in the MacRobbie opener.  They then lost to Stony Point. Congratulations on a fine season.

Baseball 10 year-olds All-Star Tournament starts Mon., June 26 at Suffern (PRLL plays West Nyack on Tues June 27 6pm at Nyack-Valley Cottage (Liberty Field).

                       The 10's opened their tournament on 6/27 with a 7-1 triumph over West Nyack.  They dropped a tight 4-3 decision to Haverstraw on 6/30, and then lost a 14-13 heartbraker to Stony Point.   

Baseball 11 year-olds All-Star Tournament starts Sat July 1 at West Nyack and Pearl River (PRLL plays Suffern at Anderson 7/1 at 7 p.m.).

                      The 11's lost to Suffern, 8-5, on 7/2/17.  They then played a strong game to beat Congers, 9-3, on 7/5, and followed that up with a solid 9-3 victory over Ramapo on 7/7/17.  Unfortunately, the team was then eliminated on July 8 in a 4-3 loss to New City.  They will play in the West Nyack Tournament for 11's next week.

LL Baseball Tournament (12 yr olds) starts Friday, June 30 (PRLL vs Congers at 6 p.m. at Stony Point Veterans Park).

                       The 12's dropped their tournament opener on 6/30 to Congers, 7-2. They bounced back on Sunday 7/2 to defeat Congers, 15-10.  On Wed 7/5, the team was eliminated by Nyack-Valley Cottage, 13-9. 

Baseball Juniors Tournament starts Wed., July 5 at Stony Point (PRLL plays Haverstraw 7/5 at 5:30 pm at Stony Point Veterans Park).

                       The PRLL Juniors dropped a tight 5-4 decision to Haverstraw in the tournament opener on 7/5.  On Friday, 7/7, the team played well but was eliminated by  Stony Point, 6-4.

*********Softball 10 year-olds win District 18 Title*************

                    The Girls' 10's got off to a fast start in their tournament, defeating New City on Thursday (6/29), 10-5, and then Nanuet on Friday, 16-1.  At McCarthy Field on Monday 7/3, they exploded for a 17-3 truimph over Congers.  Last year's Brady champions are now in the championship round on Thursday, 7/6 at 6 p.m. at Anderson, UPDATE 7/6: The PRLL 10 year-old softball All-Stars have won the District 18 championship with a 12-1 victory over Nanuet.        PHOTOS of the championship celebration can be seen here.  

                    The 10's have now entered the Section 3-North Tournament, starting with a 12-0 victory over against District 19 champ New Rochelle on Sunday 7/9.  They then ran into a buzzsaw in Montgomery on 7/11, and will try to rebound against Harrison on Friday, 7/14 (in Harrison, N.Y.) 

Softball 11 year-olds All-Star Tournament starts Mon., July 10 (PRLL vs New City/Congers/NVC at 7 p.m. at Strawtown/New City).

                   The Girls' 11's lost a wild 14-13 game to a combined team from New City/Congers/NVC on July 10, and then drew the same team in the lower bracket two days later and were outscored, 21-7.

LL Softball Tournament (12 yr olds) starts Fri. June 23 (PRLL plays Haverstraw 6/23 at 7:00 p.m. at Strawtown-New City).

                       The 12's won their first game on 6/23, beating  Haverstraw 1- 0.  The next night, 6/24, they defeated New City/Congers/NVC, 5-2.  On Monday, 6/26, in the Championship round, they dropped a 10-5 game to Haverstraw, but because PRLL won the winners' bracket, they will play for the District 18 title, against Haverstraw, on Tuesday night, June 27.  ADDENDUM: PRLL lost a 5-0 game to Haverstraw, who got outstanding pitching, in the Final.  Congrats to the team on a fine tournament, and good luck to Haverstraw in the Sections.   

West Nyack 9 year-olds baseball tournament starts Wed., July 5 at West Nyack. (See www.wnll.info ).

                      The PRLL 9 year-old team won their first West Nyack Tournament game on July 6, 13-1 over Nyack-Valley Cottage.  PHOTOS (click here)  They continued their hot hitting with a 12-4 win over host West Nyack on July 8.  Their next game will be on Monday 7/10 at 8 pm.

Kayser-Brady Memorial Tournament (9's) starts Sat., July 15 at Anderson Fields. (See www.KayserBrady.org).  (3/27/2023: KBT site currently inoperable - hope to restore soon).
